The five short movements in this piece contain metered, unmetered and spatial notation, creating a sense of spontaneity and improvisation. At times, the music calls for the player to become indecisive about the music's direction, abandon a fruitless path, or impulsively explore a newly discovered sound. These little movements are perhaps more appropriate for a solitary corner than a concert stage; like tender, spoken diminutives, they are part of a dialogue between lovers -- in this case, guitarist and guitar.
